Hillary is the devil incarnate. But there are many others out there that feel the same way as her. We are not smart enough to decide for ourselves what is best for us so they must do it. It started in the 60's and now the people that were the anti-establishment people then are the people teaching our kids in the schools and running our government. It took them that long to get into power. I think the next 20 years will be critical to America. Will the people that believe in individual freedoms and liberty continue to fight, or will the Socialist convince us that the past 232 years was a mistake and and it is time for a new world order. Our individual freedoms will slowly be eroded for the good of the group. But so slowly that Americans will not even notice.
Liberalism is viewed by many as a good thing. It is viewed as an enlightened state by many liberals. They believe that racism for one does not exist in the liberal world and that all conservatives are racist by nature. Conservatives do not share that view, which is why liberals hate conservatives so much. Here is the truth.
Not all liberals are Democrats and not all Democrats are liberals. Although there must be a great internal struggle if you are not both. But the major group in the Democratic party are liberals. Fact: The president that freed the slaves was a republican. Fact: for over 30 years, the democrats had a former Clansman as one of their leading political figures. Strom Thurman. Fact: The republicans were the ones that started and pass the equal rights amendment. The southern democrats were the ones opposed to it.
Freedom of speech is a right that I see eroding. It starts with hate speech. Yes I know the supreme court ordered that hate speech is not protected speech. But here is the problem I have with it. Who decides what hate speech is? To me hate speech is any speech that promotes hate toward any group or people. The problem is, it depend on who is saying it. Current situations in the presidential race have produced several situations that promoted hate speech. Who decides what hate speech is. To some people, hate speech can be any speech they do not agree with. But I do not agree with the Supreme Court. There is nothing in the Constitution that says freedom of speech except.... Congress is talking about bringing back a law that says broadcasters have to provide both sides of an issue or they can not talk about any issue. This also is an assault on our freedom of speech. Where does it say we have freedom of speech as long as we give an different point of view? The people in congress that what this law back are the same people that are pissed off because conservative talk radio got people up in arms about the amnesty bill. Because the people spoke, the bill was defeated. That is when they started talking about it. I wonder if Air America and all the liberal talk shows will be held to the same standards? Now I know that there will be at least one response to this blog about the Bush program that some mistakenly call "Domestic spying". First of all, I would not want to have the government listening in on my phone calls. They are intrusive enough as it is. Second of all, that program is data mining. They have a database of phone numbers outside of the U.S. that are known to be phone numbers of known or suspected terrorist. When one of those numbers is called by anyone in the U.S. they try to listen. What is wrong with that. The only way I would object to that is if I was calling overseas to a known or suspected terrorist.
